I recently bought a computer from one of those big online retailers. It was the first time I’d done that, but it turned out OK. The computer came with this really powerful spyware adware removal software, that comes with free updates for three years. I guess that was part of the promotion. Some computers only come with software that is only good for a couple months, before you have to pay for the full upgrade. I guess this was one way for this company to edge out it’s competitors, so it can increase it’s market share and money making abilities. Anything to get ahead in today’s computing world, I guess is fair game.

Dealing with electronics

Wednesday, January 27th, 2010

Are refurbished electronics as good as new electronics. Technology is constantly updating and we are always required to upgrade the electronics that we always have. Keeping up to date with electronics can be very expensive in this modern day and age. I am still very hesitant about buying anything that is refurbished. The mere thought of buying refurbished electronics raises a lot of eyebrows. Some refurbished lcd television electronics are worth the savings, BUT when dealing with electronics this is not usually the case. It comes from lots of experience with new products vs. While at first I was skeptical about them, I’ve become a total advocate for refurbished products, provided it’s done by the manufacturer.

More efficiency with a pallet wrapper

Tuesday, January 26th, 2010

Most warehouse workers know that using stretch wrap will prevent pallets from spilling during transport. Wrapping the boxes with a pallet wrapper will enable the forklift driver to hit those uneven spots on the floor without having to slow down, and not have to worry about spilling the pallet when taking corners. The person who unloads the cargo will appreciate a securely wrapped pallet as well. The best way to have an efficient workplace is to supply the proper tools and a pallet wrapper will increase speed and efficiency. It is usually a tool that holds the plastic wrap and enables the wrap to turn freely while moving around the stacked pallet. This saves time and in turn money.

Cleaning Up My Music

Tuesday, January 26th, 2010

I heard about this program and I wanted to know more about it so I read a tuneup media review.  The person who reviewed this product had actually used it and showed screen shots of what her iTunes looked like before and after she used this product.  Her iTunes looked a lot like mine so I expect that if I use it I will get similar results.  It would be nice to have all of the album information and artist information for all of the songs that I have downloaded.  When I try to make play lists I cannot sort things out right.

Wii Firmware Hack Through BitTorrent

Monday, January 25th, 2010

A recent buzz about the wii firmware hack is currently escalating and as a gamer, it is highly advised that you also learn about this. Bear in mind that not all information you find in theInternet is always true so screen out your sources properly.

Sharing a game over bittorrent and burning it to a DVD isnt true hacking, its simply piracy.  Not that I judge anyone who can morally justify it to themselves.  I also know better than anyone that media goes bad, so the ability to backup games and play them is NOT piracy in my opinion.  Renting every game at Blockbuster and backing them up is another story.

Getting the wii firmware hack allows you to play more games on your gaming console. It is a big advantage that as a gamer, you are well aware of the new technology that is available these days.

Kindle 2.0 Rings The Changes

Thursday, January 21st, 2010

Since the invention of the printing press by Johannes Gutenberg in 1440, the way that we read books has been largely unchanged. Word processors and advances in printing technology have been introduced of course, but as far as the end users experience goes, it has been broadly similar. 2009 was the year that all changed of course, the introduction of the Amazon Kindle 2.0 in February set the ball rolling and put e-book readers under the spotlight. Since then Amazon have followed up with the Kindle DX and there are a whole host of other manufacturers who either have their own readers on the market or in development. E-book readers are very definitely here to stay and it will make a big change to the manner in which we read in the near future.

PAR lights – how to shop for LEDs

Thursday, January 21st, 2010

Shopping online for LED lights is a pain in the butt. Not only do I not know what bulbs I’m currently using but new terminology like PAR16, PAR20, PAR30 etc. makes no sense to me! Why can’t they just use actual measurements! Well eventually I figured out what all the par led lights were about – the PAR20 is the smallest and the PAR38 is the biggest. There’s also BR type, which for incandescent bulbs, is slightly slimmer and more for indoors, but the LED bulbs PAR20 and BR20, they’re pretty much the same. Also most LED bulbs are for indoor use which is unfortunate since there’s a lot of outdoor lights I wanted to replace.
