Educational Standards In Lower Income Communities
Wednesday, February 24th, 2010If you visit any lower income, predominately minority populated neighborhood, you would see that the overall quality of education can at times be subpar to their suburban counterparts. Some of you may be wondering why this is the case. I believe it has a lot to do with a failure to make schooling and education appealing to minority families. One of the ways this can be accomplished is if communities create certain programs within the school system that function to make education fun. For example, a school can design fun exercises that will allow students to take fun quizzes that they enjoy instead of the more traditional and intimidating quiz models. With much research, I believe we can see a complete reversal of our educational standards within these communities.
